Ethics and compliance training company LRN has announced its completion in acquiring Thomson Reuters’ compliance learning team. According to a statement from LRN, this acquisition cements its position as “the largest global provider of ethics and compliance learning solutions”.
LRN chief executive officer Kevin Michielsen discussed his excitement: “We are delighted to be joining forces with the compliance learning team who share our passion for inspiring principled performance. The addition of both further global reach and specialist expertise from compliance learning is a perfect fit with our strategy to help meet the global demand for more comprehensive, impactful solutions.”
LRN’s service provides companies with ethics and compliance management tools, digital training, advisory services and program analytics. LRN plans to use this acquisition to bolster its capabilities and support expansion into financial services.
Mr Michielsen continued: “The global regulatory landscape continues to grow in scope and complexity, and organisations of all sizes need greater agility to comply with new rules, requirements, and expectations.”
This announcement comes off the back of an investment from private equity firm Leeds Equity Partners. According to LRN, the support received from the firm allowed LRN to expand its content and secure its standing in Europe.
Partner at Leeds Equity Jacques Galante commented on the announcement: “Governance, risk and compliance solutions are now playing an even greater role in defining success in business as more boards, investors, and business leaders understand the impact that culture has on organisations and their performance.”
Mr Galante added: “Alongside its innovative technology platform and market-leading advisory services, LRN is uniquely positioned to continue to be the partner of choice for ethics and compliance solutions around the world.”
